"Worldwide Access" Hearing Instruments

Become empowered. You have the right to be able to go out in public and have access to any assistive listening system, whether in your community or traveling around the world. You need access via:

• Telecoil connector: hearing loops (direct connection no borrowed equipment needed), FM/RF (via neckloop), infrared (via neckloop), and Auracast streamed assistive listening systems (via neckloop)
• Auracast connector: for Auracast streamed assistive listening systems

“Worldwide Access” hearing aids and cochlear implants give you the capability to do just that, when you have both telecoil and Auracast included in the instrument itself.

• In the United States, this list refers to hearing instruments that give the user access to ADA Law-mandated assistive listening systems. Earlier versions of this document referred to them as “ADA-Access-Ready” hearing instruments.

At your hearing aid appointment, insist upon these instruments. If you have concerns, express them to your audiologist or hearing instrument specialist.
