Consumer Advocacy-Educate People You Know About Assistive Listening Systems

Educate
Educate people you know about assistive listening systems. That might be at an educational or support group, or one-on-one with friends and family. You might even know more than the inexperienced staff member at an event.
Ideas:
- Advocate confidently, knowing that you may help someone significantly
- Share a short story that describes the difference an assistive listening system makes for you personally
- Informally educate one-on-one
- Discuss in a support group
- Conduct a formal presentation, in person or on Zoom
- Arrange for a try-out session, “Come try out the assistive listening system” before the event/performance
Feel free to reach out to Center for Hearing Access (CHA) with questions or support. CHA can also conduct training, via Zoom. CHA contact information
