“Worldwide Access” Hearing Instruments List

(5 pages) Two lists of hearing instruments that connect you with assistive listening systems: 1) telecoils and Auracast and 2) telecoils.

  1. Current need: Telecoils connect to ADA-compliant assistive listening systems (hearing loops, FM, infrared, and Auracast broadcast), now and years into the future.
  2. Future need: In the next 5-7 years, if you decide to purchase new hearing instruments, having Auracast in your hearing aids and cochlear implants (in addition to telecoils) can “future-proof” them as the technology develops.

Additional notes:

  • Some manufacturers appear to be waiting for Auracast releases, perhaps because of the lack of an international standard (to be finalized in late 2027), ongoing product development cycles, research, the highly sparse number of Auracast installations worldwide, and/or waiting for the technology to evolve.
  • If you wish to give feedback to a manufacturer, please see Contact Information – for hearing instrument manufacturers
